Connecting dots others don't see

The April 2 Conversation Café emerged from synthesizing multiple worlds that do not usually speak coherently to each other: impact investors, bioregional practitioners, Mennonite landowners, Indigenous-informed governance, systems thinkers, and regenerative food advocates.

When early conversations with Richard surfaced tension around Indigenous framing and institutional boundaries, the move was not confrontation or retreat. It was synthesis. The language shifted from “systemic investing pilot” to a shared inquiry:

“Have you ever seen an investment make real progress — and still watched the larger system stay stuck?”

That reframing created a throughline that investors, practitioners, and community members could all step into without defensiveness.

Synthesis here was not intellectual brilliance. It was coherence under pressure.
